    For learners who want to develop their skills and creativity in fashion design and construction.

    What do the qualifications cover?

    They allow learners to learn, develop and use design led creative skills required for employment or career progression in the Fashion sector.

    Entry Requirements

    Level 2 qualification or experience in subject

    A good understanding of Maths & English is required, but support throughout the course can be given. You will need to complete either Functional Skills or GCSE maths & English if you haven’t obtained a grade C or above at GCSE.

    You must have a keen and enthusiastic attitude to work and learn.

    You will be required to complete the college’s initial assessments in Maths and English

    To successfully complete the full qualification it is necessary for you to achieve 90% attendance.

    Assessment & Achievements

    A variety of methods will be used, which may include tests, and building a portfolio of coursework. All elements must be successfully achieved in order to gain full certification.The portfolio is marked by the Awarding Body.


    Length of Course

    1 year. This course is a full time, college taught programme, over 2 days/week for one academic year (ie 3 terms), however, in addition to attendance in class, learners are expected to devote enough additional time as necessary for self-study, research and assignment writing, in order to complete the course successfully.

    Attendance Requirements

    Learners must achieve an attendance record of 85% over the duration of the course. Learners who miss any of their normal timetabled sessions will be expected to attend additional sessions (which may be with a different Tutor), to make up for lost learning hours. Learners who do not meet the attendance requirements will not be allowed to complete final assessment which leads to certification.

    All students pay a non-refundable Administration Fee of £10.00 regardless of status. Please contact our enrollment team for total cost of this course. Cost is supported by the advance learning loan – This loan is not repayable until in employment and earning £21k or more and then at payments start at £9.00 per month.

    Equipment and materials are provided free of charge, however, should you wish to pursue your learning in more depth, you may be advised to purchase one or more text books from a recommended reading list.

    Fee Waiver – If you receive one or more means tested state benefits (or you are a dependent of someone who is), tuition, assessment and certification will be free provided that you provide satisfactory ^evidence of receipt of benefits at the time of enrolment. Some courses are free of charge for all learners e.g. Literacy and numeracy, and certain Level 2 and Level 3 courses are fully funded by the Government.
    ^evidence must be current, and in line with funding criteria and partner audit requirements. You may need to provide further evidence when your benefit(s) are due for renewal, and you will be required to update the College in the event that your circumstances change over the duration of your studies.
